Introduction to SAAS Medical Systems
SAAS Web and SAAS Desktop applications
SAASWeb is accessed from any browser (from anywhere) – but can also be accessed from the PC Application.
The first license for SAAS Medical (PC application) is free – so when you subscribe to SAASWeb – you also will be able to access all of the same functionality from you laptop or desktop with a normal Windows application.

The PC Application (sometimes referred to as the “Console” in SAASWeb) – is required for Medicare Online. You are able to Bulk Bill and perform a number of Medicare functions with the web interface only, but the Console is required to transmit to Medicare.
There may be a number of other functions available on the Console that are not available with the browser. This document will indicate where the Console is required.
In general – the PC Application supports a wider range of functionality as it may be impracticable to implement some processes on a web browser.
Additionally, where the functionality of the PC Application/Console has additional features, the PC Application feature may be described here. In this case it will also be noted with this symbol.
Some functionality available in SAASWeb may not be documented in this manual - therefore it is recommended that you also reference the PC Application Operations Guide, Training Guide, and Administrator’s Guide.
What is Cross-Platform and Why is it Important?
We define SAAS Medical Systems Practice Management as being Cross-Platform technology.
Simply what this means is that it runs either on Windows or the Web.
The Web application is not a “Windows” application hosted on the Web with Citrix or similar – but is a true browser-based application that you can run from any browser on any device.
However, the Windows application and the Web application use the same code for everything except for the user interface.
This means – that with a hosted database – you are using the same Practice Management System if you use the Windows application or the Web application.
The SAAS Medical Systems Cross-Platform approach provides many advantages.
You can work with a laptop, integrating with Excel, Microsoft Word, and numerous other Windows-based software.
When you leave the office you can continue where you left off using a secure login from any web browser.
No need to carry your laptop. All data and functionality is exactly the same.
The Web interface is responsive and provides most of the same functionality as the windows application.
For busy offices, practice staff are often adept at using an array of Windows-based systems and software (i.e. all data and reports in SAAS Medical Systems can be instantly exported to Excel and Microsoft Word when compiling financial analysis reports) – and it may be far more efficient using Word on Windows rather than a web browser.
SAAS Medical Systems enables you to simply configure the Windows application to access the same hosted database. The best of both worlds!
The advantages of a Cloud Practice Management System are many – but with the SAAS Medical Systems Cross-Platform approach – you still have a choice!
